Sparky's Birthday Picnic
A small group of Traveller and Countryman owners gathered at the Abbey Pumping Station museum in Leicester on Saturday 6th June to celebrate the 50th birthday of Sparky the electric Countryman.
Museum staff had reserved a special area for us to park up together with Sparky as part of their Teddy Bears Picnic open day and the Minis certainly got a lot of attention from all the visitors.

We all enjoyed visiting the museum and having a picnic on the museum lawns.  Those of us who had remembered to bring our teddy bears with us also went for a ride on the museum's narrow gauge railway.

MTACR presented Sparky's custodians with a special personalised birthday card and there was of course birthday cake!

Then in the afternoon we were all offered a ride in Sparky, and one of two of us were lucky enough to drive Sparky ourselves!

Many thanks to all the APS volunteers for making us feel so welcome and in particular to Andy and Pat for taking us out for electric rides.
