MTACR at Gaydon 2013
MTACR had a good turnout of cars at the BMC & Leyland show at Gaydon last weekend.
We had secured a prime location right outside the museum, between the 1959 Mini Register and the Cooper Sport 500 Register.

With 12 cars on the stand, we unfortunately didn't manage to break our show record from last year, but everyone who made the trip to Gaydon had an enjoyable day, with tea and coffee on arrival, a chance to chat to other Traveller and Countryman owners and fantastic weather to enjoy the picnics our cars are so suited to.

We borrowed Bob Robins, who worked on the Mini under John Sheppard and Jack Daniels, from the 1959 Register and together with his daughter Bob chose the MTACR "Car of the Show" which was won by Paul Orton's immaculate 1965 Almond Green Countryman.  Runners-up were Dave Boswell's rare 1967 Cooper S Traveller and John Askew's 1966 all-steel Traveller.

Everyone who displayed their car on the MTACR stand went home with a small memento of the day in the form of a bottle of our very own Countryman Ale.

We also got a mention in the show report in the Summer 2013 issue of Mini World:
